Individual and corporate learning become the “bottom line” of organizational excellence. Like many things, excellence is a choice. The choice being to creatively take on complex problems and define the preferred future, or to discourage risk-taking and de-emphasize entrepreneurship. The latter being a capitulation to the bureaucracy in order to preserve and ensure the efficient operation of the status quo.
“The rate at which organizations
learn may become the only
sustainable source of advantage.”
– Ray Stata
